Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos | 2018

113 2018 Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook Towards multimodal U rgent and necessary answers to mobility problems call for reflection and the response is unanimous: the future is multimodal. So says Flávio Tavares, Director of the PARAR Leader Institute. “We cannot think that the solution to our problems lies in the emergence of one modal or in the abolition of another on,” he says. Tavares says that one of the main points is the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), which will have a great impact on traditional transport models. It provides for more interaction and connection between all modes available in the city, including the rental of vehicles.” To get to work, for example, this would be like starting with a bike ride, then using the subway and ending with car sharing,” he says. For Tavares, urban mobility needs to be a priority for governments, with investments in infrastructure and improvements in public transport. “Private initiative is following the new wave of mobility and the same, just happen with public authorities. We are talking about a future of 0% ownership, where mobility will be entirely based on service provision,” he says. Tavares foresees vehicle sharing in residential and corporate buildings, in which cars are offered as a service to people who pay only for what they use. For rental companies, the PARAR Leader Institute specialist recommends that more companies believe and invest in new business niches. “It’s important that car rental companies start working in this way because the market is maturing very fast to the changes,” he says. The future is integrated solutions that make travel easier, faster, safer and more intelligent Ele prevê mais interação e conexão entre todos os modais disponíveis nas cidades, inclusive a loca- ção de veículos. Flávio Tavares Diretor do Instituto PARAR Leader Director of the PARAR Leader Institute © João Luiz Oliveira - Technifoto | ANFAVEA
