Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos | 2019

117 2019 Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook Positive outlook W e started 2019 with a new government and with favorable projections for the automotive and light commercial segments. The market has been picking up since the second half of 2017 and this year should see an estimated increase in 11% units licensed, to 2,741,716. Although starting from a low comparative basis, given the crisis between 2015 and the first half of 2017, we have to celebrate this outlook. It becomes even rosier when we consider some important factors, such as: falling default, both for individuals and companies, increased credit - with 62% approval for car and light commercial loans - and rising confidence, driven by hope for reform of welfare, which should be put to a vote by March. With inflation under control, stable interest rates and GDP forecast at perhaps over 2.5%, 2019 should be positive for a lot of sectors, notably cars and light commercial vehicles, driven by the availability of credit in the country. Everything suggests the new government’s economic direction is correct, taking Brazil to other levels of development and contributing to factors that directly influence the sale of durable goods, such as automobiles. With the recovery of the economy, we see household debt falling and rising income, with a fall in unemployment, albeit gradual. In order for everything to go the way everyone wants, however, we must have union, not only among the sectors we represent but, fundamentally, in the nation as a whole.Together, we will be contributing to progress for everyone and can achieve our common goals. As the saying goes: “We can go faster alone, but together we will go further!” The Automotive Vehicle Distribution sector, made up of more than 7,300 dealers, assumes this commitment, accounting for 3.9% of GDP and more than 318,000 direct jobs. Together, we drive Brazil. And so we will continue, alongside partners such as ABLA, so that our country can achieve greater growth, on wheels.   Everything suggests the new government’s economic direction is correct, taking Brazil to other levels of development fatores que influenciam, diretamente, na comer- cialização de bens duráveis, como o automóvel. Alarico Assumpção Júnior Presidente da FENABRAVE / President of FENABRAVE 8 © Divulgação
