123 2019 Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook We must reinvent P eople who live in Brazil’s largest cities may have noticed that traffic during school vacations is radically better. “Isn’t this something to be studied not only by the public authorities, but also by private transport companies?” asks Flávio Tavares, founder of the PARAR Institute and founder of the Welcome Tomorrow Mobility Conference. The subject of mobility, in Tavares’ view, needs to be treated in a context that goes beyond public transport - including other modes, such as vehicle rental. For him, cities need to reinvent themselves and it is essential to find out how private initiative can contribute to this. In other words, Tavares says it is essential to debate the way mobility is being managed in Brazil.” We have, for example, to encourage jobs near homes. We have good planning in education, meaning students can study near where they live,” he adds. Tavares says that private initiative is coming to the fore, as more and more companies begin to prioritize the issue of employee transport and time management. This is a positive trend, for car rental companies, too, which can gain market share by presenting solutions for this growing need in the corporate world. In order to take opportunities, Tavares recommends rental companies focus on people, besides convenience in the provision of their services. “Only with well-trained staff, with human engagement, is it possible to ensure that clients are well served. This is the basis for making a car rental company compatible with the changes that are happening in the world,” he says. Focusing on traffic and people management, in 2019 the PARAR Institute will step up its work with fleet vehicle rental companies. “The goal is to have a more humane approach in this segment. We want and we can contribute so that professionals who need fleet vehicles are much closer to the main innovations in Brazil and the world,” Tavares says. Faced with daily transport needs, private initiative is providing more efficient mobility models for professionals. apresentação de soluções para essa crescente necessidade do mundo corporativo. Flávio Tavares Diretor do Instituto PARAR Leader Director of the PARAR Leader Institute © João Luiz Oliveira - Technifoto | ANFAVEA
