152 Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook 2020 SERPRO T he partnership between ABLA and the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro) expands the range of services and possibilities for the vehicle rental segment. Serpro contributes information to identify the size of the fleet of rental companies in Brazil and the quantity of new packaging, classified by manufacturer, subsegment, year and State. “Our relationship with ABLA is very important and allows us to monitor the needs of the rental sector, in addition to thinking about new technological solutions for rental companies,” says André de Cesero, Serpro’s customer relationship director. Brenno Bello Sampaio, head of end customer relationships adds, “2020 began with the implementation of the new model of vehicle license plates nationwide. The technological solution developed by Serpro for Denatran includes more than 30 manufacturers and 1,750 stampers in the 27 Detrans agencies in Brazil, ensuring traceability from end to end.” The new vehicle plate has a QR-Code generated by Serpro, produced from the same QR-Code technology as used for driving licenses. The QR-Code is encrypted and secure and ensures the connection of the plates to the respective vehicles, dispensing with the use of seals and contributing to the fight against fraud in vehicles plates. Other highlights are these important projects in the traffic segment: Digital Document Wallet (CDT) : in November 2019 the 3.0 version of the digital document wallet was launched, making it a robust platform for digital services, with the prospect of becoming a single interface with the segment. In addition to the reformulation of its visual identity and information architecture, license recall notification and expiration features were made available. The new CDT also allows people to view, consult issue history, export and share digital documents, and to check traffic fines. Recall Warning Service : technological solution available for manufacturers, automakers and vehicle transformers that recall nationally, enabling them to notify owners to carry out repairs free of charge. The notification can be sent electronically or by standard printed correspondence to the address of the current owner of the vehicle registered with Renavam. 100% digital vehicle registration certificate : in January 2019 the 100% digital vehicle registration certificate project was rolled out and became mandatory in all States by June 30, 2020. The document is available in a new layout for individuals and companies. In addition, it can be printed on A4 paper. Facial recognition for driving licenses : in order to reduce fraud in the issuance of the document, biometric validation was rolled out for changes to category and renewal of driving licenses. The driver’s document photograph is validated against the old photograph on the national driver image bank, thereby reducing risks of counterfeiting. Early issuance of the digital driving license : it is also possible to obtain a digital driving license before a printed one. After requesting it, the national system will forward the instructions by email to the user to perform the procedures for issuing the electronic version, without having to wait for the physical document. Renave : the National Register of Vehicles in Stock (Renave) allows the integration of Detran agencies with vehicle dealerships registered to check if any fines are owed or any restrictions apply, as well as the automatic opening of a process and electronic transfer of ownership. The electronic process uses digital certification and information from the tax authority, reducing costs and making the transfer of vehicle ownership faster. The project was implemented in November 2019 initially in the State of Santa Catarina..  Relationship between Serpro and ABLA makes thinking about technological solutions for rental companies possible The traffic segment gets new projects
