This illustrates the performance sales to disabled drivers served by direct sales and is related to the greater promotion of benefits for this buyer profile, and from 2013 two new factors: the extension to non-disabled drivers allowed to buy as third party carers, and the inclusion of a greater number of special needs that can be included for the purchase of vehicles. The growth in rental purchases is related to the shift from the “culture of ownership” to the “culture of use,” which means more people rent vehicles for long periods, rather than buying them; and the increase in vehicle rental by drivers using transport apps. Applications in Brazil According to ANFAVEA, there are no fewer than 253 transport apps in operation in Brazil. In a preliminary estimate by ABLA, if the total fleet of rental companies, between 150,000 and 200,000 cars are rented to app drivers. This type of rental requires the renewal of fleets after 12 months, as cars for this purpose suffer a high degree of wear and tear, covering 5,000 to 7,000 kilometers per month.
