Anuário Estatístico Statistical Yearbook | SINDICEL 2025 8 Word from the We are very happy to share with you here in the Sindicel Statistical Yearbook 2024 a little of our experience leading Sindicel. This has been nine years of intense dedication, pride, and deep commitment to this organization and the sector it represents. The Sao Paulo State Electrical Conductors, Wire Drawing, and Non-Ferrous Metal Rolling Industry Association, founded in 1979, is a non-profit organization that represents companies in electrical wires and cables, telecommunication products (such as optical fibers), and semi-manufactured copper items, such as sheets, strips, and tubes. Since 2015, when we took over the presidency of Sindicel, we have believed in the importance of the association’s increasingly active role in promoting the quality and safety of the sector’s products. The achievements over the years were only possible thanks to the support, involvement, and significant participation of the members, who have played a key role throughout the journey. In this period, we have been to numerous meetings with authorities, dealing with the certification and inspection of commercial establishments and manufacturers of wires and conductors, always with the aim of combating unfair competition and protecting consumers. Chief among the actions we are proud of are: Liaising with the São Paulo State Federation of Industries (FIESP), associations, and companies in the drawing up and approval of Labor Reform. The internal restructuring of Sindicel, with increased membership, and the creation of new departments. The implementation of the National Program to Combat the Illegal Market, later expanded to photovoltaic cables, aluminum, optics, LAN, fire alarms, control, and extensions. The creation of working groups offering direct support to members in areas such as human resources, tax, institutional relations, and technical standards. Working to draw up and improve legislation to protect and strengthen the sector. The issuance of alerts to the market about sub-standard products, with a focus on raising awareness among resellers and consumers. The development of a mobile laboratory for the on-site inspection of wires and cables. The strengthening of the relationship with INMETRO, which enabled national operations to combat the illegal market, and the donation of the mobile laboratory. The creation of the building review program, which carries out free assessments to identify irregular wiring in properties within two years of their construction. The regular publication of the Sindicel Statistical Yearbook. The implementation of a Compliance Program, including the review of the bylaws and code of ethics. As we come to the end of this cycle, we express our deepest gratitude to the board of directors who have been with us throughout this journey. Each achievement has been the result of the dedication, competence, and collaborative spirit that are the hallmarks of our teamwork. Our sincere thanks go out to our members. You are the reason for all our efforts. We worked hard and responsibly to represent your companies and this sector. The trust, partnership, and support demonstrated by everyone were fundamental for the strengthening of Sindicel. To our institutional partners, the associations, public agencies, and everyone who accompanied us, we offer our sincere thanks. This union of forces was essential in our facing challenges and making significant progress, such as combating the non-documented, strengthening inspection, and stimulating innovation and legal compliance. In 2025, we leave the presidency with the certainty that Sindicel will remain firm in its purpose of representing, defending, and driving the sector. We take with us valuable lessons, great friendships, and the conviction that, together, we have made a difference. Carlos Alberto Cordeiro President of the Union of the Industry of Electrical Conductors, Drawing and Rolling of Non-Ferrous Metals of the State of São Paulo (Sindicel)
