Mainly in our professional lives, the need for quality information is fundamental to the success of business. The objective is the search for “excellence”! Thus, our commitment as an institution has and will always have the purpose of providing the sector we represent - car renting - with clear and up to date information, from trustworthy sources, in an ethical and responsible manner. This is how we worked on this new edition of the Yearbook the sector now receives. Once “knowledge is power”, we looked for scrutinizing along the pages of this publication all the social and market scenery of our sector, allowing that, regardless of the companies sizes - be them small, medium or big - all of them have their hands on the main weapon for their effective decision making and strategic planning: information. We have been doing this for over a decade! It has been already 15 years since ABLA publishes the Census of the Vehicle Rental Sector, produced from the crossing of a series of data obtained from official sources, culminating in a study with numbers and statistics of interest to our whole sector, as well as to the rental companies business partners. We consulted and filtered data from DENATRAN, SEST-SENAT, the Brazilian IRS, CAGED, regional directories and rental syndicates (SINDLOCS), State Finance Departments, CNT, Trade Boards, FENABRAVE and ANFAVEA, creating a unique and guiding archive of the sector. Now, on this 15th edition of the Car Rental Sector Yearbook, the job became even more complete and complex. The numbers presented also have the guarantee and the participation of LAFIS Informação de Valor – an institute specialized in research - adding even more experience and credibility to this already traditional data verification and compilation. Supplying the “knowledge” about our business universe, in an exempt and clear manner, is one of our ways to contribute with the car rental sector and to the market as a whole. This is how a strong and forward looking sector is done, searching and working for a sustainable growth, based on consistent and updated market information. That is how ABLA is, working with and for the sector: yesterday, today and for an even better tomorrow!
